About the Event
“Beauty Will Save The World” The profound quote from
Dostoevsky’s novel “Idiot” has been widely used and pondered
by many philosophers, artists, and writers. The meaning behind
this idea is about the inner beauty of the human spirit with its
potential for the betterment of this world.
All beings are evolutionarily hard-wired with an innate sense
of beauty. Artists are especially keenly aware of this. Through
their work, artists bring beauty alive and make it real and
tangible. Beauty inspires humanity and compassion and allows
us to connect and share the experience of awe. It transcends
aesthetics beyond the superficial “likes” and “dislikes” and
makes life worth living.
In an ultimate form, beauty represents the embodiment of
truth, harmony, and love.
The pandemic brought our lives to a halt and reoriented us
from the outer to the inner world. It forced us to reevaluate our
limitations and also revealed new possibilities.
We invite artists to reflect on this notion, “Beauty will save the
world!”, as the source that sustains us when we are confined
and challenged, the inner and manifested beauty, where all of
us can meet.
