Seeds of Hope
Over 50 community members—from children to seniors—joined me to paint the mural over several weeks in October. Participants helped bring color to the design, learning about mural techniques and sharing in the joy of creating a public artwork together. Volunteers painted side by side, building connections and leaving their mark on a lasting piece of art that belongs to everyone. Each brushstroke embodies Wheaton’s collective resilience and creativity.

About the Mural:
Seeds of Hope is a vibrant 32-foot by 13-foot community mural designed and led by me as part of my year-long Mid-County Artist-Residency. The mural celebrates unity, growth, and renewal. It features "Hope," a radiant figure blowing dandelion seeds that transform into words like Hope, Peace, Love, Esperanza, and Amor—carried by the wind across a joyful scene of children and blooming flowers. The artwork symbolizes how small acts of kindness, creativity, and community can blossom into lasting positive change. Inspired by hundreds of local voices gathered through the Sofa Stories engagement series, the design reflects Wheaton’s diverse and hopeful spirit.
